little hands

between giggles and the little red wagon
kicking the soccer ball across the field
smiling dog runs behind chasing dreams

there in the fading rays of the day smiles
a place where hope still blooms at night
undercover the Dragon Fruit’s waltz

a glance across the room’s arrival
your half-hidden smile emerging
candles dance your arrival song

tousled hair and sleepy eyes heavy
curled beside and warming the bed such
things only within little hands can know.
