quest

the thumping sound
hollowed ear
the scream of pain
cool waters won’t heal
down the rail
the clenched finger
racing thought
consumes
photographs
caught
in flashing light
racing
sporadic glimpses
into the twisting
night
wind whipped
and wandering
temporal rages
your quest for home
nullified
to matters
of survival
and flight.

joy

parades of cotton candy
white and wisps of grey
passing contours dance the sky
startling blue depth beyond
while skipping the grass
wildflowers sway escaping toes
of laughter the sun streaks
through, captures your pose
while arms outstretched fly
swings the breathing joy.

past the blue

a sign a day
sometimes unseen
hides and shines
flowers in her
hair, yellow bright
and how to smile
until it hurts
joy raise a note
deep, throaty
or airy bright
almond scented
fractals caught
in rays of light
green past
the window pane
green passed
a sign a day
so small, so pale
for waiting what
already given rests
past the green
past the blue
passing beside you
just listen.
