once

when left alone it sometimes shines

in the walking
the path
unfolds
blades push
though cracks
while clouds part
to starling blue
awoken reverie
of legs tangled
before dawn
with silent sheets
scent of coffee
cinnamon eyes
call out shadows
grace notes
your singing heart
once revealed
bittersweet bloom
that sometimes
shines.

  1. “Once” brings me back to longing, a loyal companion of hungers never satisfied… a romantic scream for attention, so many words never spoken….It appeals to my most tender and wounded memories. Thank you. You are a poet alright. love,M.
